Well,
we are no longer following the stupid bus! We are also down to nine people in
the motorhome; auntie and our family.
This
morning we sent Grandpa, Raconteur and Rough home. We will miss them!
We will
also miss the many friends we made who were on the bus tour.
By the
way, that tour was amazing. If you are going on a tour anytime soon, you
definitely want to check out http://alanmckaytours.com/.
Enough
advertising.
After
we sent off the bus, we headed to into New York’s transportation system to
spend another full day in the city.
There
is so much walking requisite to visiting these big cities!
We,
after finally – and at last successfully – navigating the subways, walked through Times Square. The output of media screaming for attention was a bit
overwhelming. I swear, every inch of surface area that could (and some that couldn’t)
had been turned into a TV!
We saw
some skyscrapers again today.
We
walked along 5th Avenue. We saw a coat with a price tag of over four
thousand dollars.
We went
into the American Girl store. That was pretty fun…I think. Actually, I must
confess that I was tired, so I sat down to rest my feet. While I was sitting, I
happened to notice a book. You can probably guess the rest. I don’t have a very
good memory of what the store was like. But I could tell you all about the
book!
Next we
went into a store that was totally awesome. I had the time of my life, and I
think just about everyone did, including the adults.
FAO
Schwartz.
The
biggest toy store in the U.S.
They
had just about everything you could wish for.
We
spent several hours in there (Part of the reason was because while we were in there, my parents, and all other cell phone owners, received a severe weather alert on their phone and soon, it was pouring buckets outside.)
I got
to play the ‘big piano’, which is a keyboard type thing that you play with your
feet.
It was
amazing. We had a blast.
Afterwards
we went through Central Park on our way to the subway station.
Everyone
but myself, Emergent and Employed went home. We hung
out in the station for a bit. Then we ate dinner in Times Square.
Then we
went to the best part of the day.
We saw The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.
It was
a rich repast of music, drama, and theater. This was so exciting for me. I mean
seriously, sitting in Broadway, about to watch a show I have been dying to
see. I was bouncing up and down on my seat. The show took FOREVER to start!!!! I think it was definitely my favorite (just so you know, way more than one
sight has been my favorite). It was amazing. It was…
well…
Words fail me.
Words fail me.
…literally.
The
End.
